WILLIAM NICHOLSON'S FAVORITE MOVIES |

"LAWLESS" I've always enjoyed watching movies that are based on real life events. "Lawless" is not only based on true events, but it is also based on events that have happened in Virginia, not too far from where I live. Crime movies have always been very interesting to me. The reason being that it always seems that crime movies turn the "good" guy, "bad" guy persona around to the point where the viewer ends up rooting for the criminals. It's as if what is considered to be "right" is no longer in question. The only thing that matters is that the criminal gets away with the crime they've committed.
"Lawless" is based on the events that occurred from 3 bootlegging moonshiners named the Bondurant brothers. Back in the 1930's prohibition was in full swing, but in Franklin County prohibition was just another obstacle to overcome. The Bondurant brothers had a bountiful moonshine business, selling to not only the residents in Franklin County, but also to the police officers as well. However, new lawmen from the city would attempt to come in and force any bootleggers to pay a toll for selling any moonshine. Almost every bootlegger payed the toll, except the Bondurant brothers. While they are faced with many obstacles, the Bondurant brothers refuse to back down to anyone, no matter what the cost may be. If you want to watch an action packed movie, with a little bit of history, I would highly recommend taking a look at "Lawless."
